The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Fatai Tijani, has paid courtesy visits to key military formations across the state, reinforcing the importance of closer collaboration among security agencies to improve safety, Eko Hot Blog reports.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, the visits took place on Wednesday and covered the 9 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Ikeja, the 651 Base Service Group of the Nigerian Air Force, and the Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft.

At the 9 Brigade, located at Lagbaja Cantonment in Ikeja, Tijani was received by the Brigade Commander, Ayokunle Owolabi. Both officials discussed ways to strengthen ongoing collaboration in internal security operations and sustain joint efforts aimed at protecting residents.
During his visit to the 651 Base Service Group at Sam Ethnan Air Force Base, also in Ikeja, the police commissioner met with the Commanding Officer, M. A. Imam. Their discussions focused on improving professionalism, intelligence sharing, and operational cooperation between both agencies.

At the Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft in Apapa, Tijani was welcomed by the Commander, Aiwuyor Adams-Aliu. They explored strategies to strengthen security along Lagos waterways and enhance coordination during joint operations.
Adebisi noted that the commissioner stressed the need for seamless cooperation among all security and law enforcement agencies, especially in a complex and strategic state like Lagos.
Tijani also emphasised that the Nigeria Police Force and the Armed Forces must continue to work together with mutual respect and a shared commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and critical national assets.
He commended the military for its continued support to the Lagos State Police Command, noting that such collaboration remains essential in tackling crime, maintaining law and order, and responding to emerging security threats.
The commissioner reaffirmed the police command’s commitment to sustaining strong partnerships with other security agencies to ensure peace, enhance public safety, and create an environment that supports economic growth in the state.
