In a significant policy shift, eligibility has been limited to women and families only.
Male travellers will no longer be granted tourist or transit visas unless they are travelling with their families.
Furthermore, only reservations in five-star hotels will be accepted under the new guidelines, effectively disqualifying budget and mid-range accommodation bookings from visa processing.

An official statement from the Qatari authorities explained the decision: “Due to the growing number of overstay cases, we are implementing stricter requirements for Nigerian applicants to ensure compliance with visa regulations.”
The policy takes effect immediately and also impacts applications that are still under review.
