Rashford’s arrival is not only significant on the pitch but also financially, as the England star is now Barcelona’s third-highest paid player with a weekly wage of £300,000, according to Capology. Only Robert Lewandowski (£347,083) and Frenkie de Jong (£316,590) earn more than the Manchester United loanee.
Speaking to Barcelona’s official YouTube channel after his unveiling, Rashford expressed excitement about the new chapter in his career.
“I’m very excited. It’s a club where people’s dreams come true. They win big prizes,” Rashford said. “It feels like home here. A big part of my decision was the family atmosphere and the chance to grow as a player.”
He also praised head coach Hansi Flick for his impressive achievements with the team last season. “Our conversations were positive. What he did last season with such a young team showed me everything I needed to know,” Rashford added.
Despite Barcelona undergoing financial restructuring, Rashford’s loan deal was arranged without destabilising the club’s wage structure, highlighting the club’s strategic approach under Flick’s leadership.
