Expressing his gratitude on Instagram, Rashford wrote: “I would like to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan deal happen.”
“I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me but Aston Villa was an easy decision – I really admire the way that Aston Villa have been playing this season, and the manager’s ambitions. I just want to play football and am excited to get started.
“I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best for the rest of the season.”
After being left out of the Manchester derby in December, England international Marcus Rashford admitted he was “ready for a new challenge.”
Meanwhile, Aston Villa are closing in on a loan deal for Spanish midfielder Marco Asensio from Paris Saint-Germain.
Following their 2-0 loss to relegation-threatened Wolves on Saturday, Villa manager Unai Emery emphasized the club’s need for reinforcements, stating, “We need new players.”
The club has already strengthened its squad in January, bringing in Spanish full-back Andrés García from Levante and Dutch forward Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund. However, Villa also offloaded key players, selling Colombian striker Jhon Durán to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr for £71 million and defender Diego Carlos to Fenerbahçe for around £8.45 million.

Their squad depth has been further tested, with England striker Ollie Watkins suffering an injury on Saturday. Additionally, injuries to Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings have forced central midfielder Boubacar Kamara to fill in at centre-back.
On Monday, Villa confirmed that 19-year-old defender Kosta Nedeljković has joined RB Leipzig on loan for the remainder of the season. The Serbian youngster has made just two appearances for Villa since arriving from Red Star Belgrade in January 2024.
