According to the commissioner, the completion of projects currently at various stages of construction remains a top priority of the Sanwo-Olu administration, as the state continues to address the growing housing needs of its residents.
Akinderu-Fatai charged heads of departments to ensure that all ongoing projects meet high standards of planning, quality and timely delivery. He specifically listed Sangotedo Phase II, Egan-Igando Cluster II and III, Ibeshe Phase II, as well as all joint venture housing schemes, as projects expected to be delivered for commissioning by the governor.
“We must work assiduously to ensure these projects are completed and ready for commissioning,” he said, stressing that quality delivery must not be compromised.

The commissioner added that the Ministry will continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including private developers and financial institutions, to ensure the successful implementation of housing programmes in line with the State Government’s THEMES Plus Agenda.
In a related development, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Abdulhafis Toriola, underscored the importance of hard work, integrity and justice in public service, urging staff to remain committed to excellence in the discharge of their duties.
He spoke during a New Year prayer session with management and staff of the Ministry, where he reminded them that effort and dedication remain central to achieving institutional success.
Engr. Toriola reaffirmed the Ministry’s resolve to provide more Lagosians with access to safe, sustainable and affordable homes, noting that this remains a core mandate of the Ministry.
He also disclosed that the state government, in line with the provisions of the Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (LASRERA) Law, is intensifying efforts to tackle the growing number of abandoned buildings across Lagos.
According to him, the government plans to deploy existing legal frameworks to intervene in stalled developments, ensure their completion and bring them into the housing stock, while also improving the urban environment and enhancing public safety.
