The announcement was made on Monday at a press briefing in Alausa by Commissioner for Information and Strategy Gbenga Omotoso, who confirmed that the inaugurations would take place on Wednesday and Thursday.
Roads
The most symbolically loaded project on the commissioning list is the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge, a new road infrastructure that creates a direct connection between the Ikeja Central Business District and residential areas in Ojota.
The corridor, which cuts through Maryland, Mende, and Allen Avenue, had long suffered from poor road linkages that worsened traffic pressure across the Lagos mainland.
The bridge has a longer history than its recent construction suggests. It was originally conceived over two decades ago during Tinubu’s tenure as Lagos governor. Sanwo-Olu revived and flagged off the project in January 2022, making its commissioning by Tinubu a full-circle moment in Lagos infrastructure politics.

Education and Social Infrastructure
Two projects target social development in Ajegunle, one of Lagos’s most densely populated communities.
The Tolu Schools Complex, originally established in 1981, has been fully regenerated by the Sanwo-Olu administration. The cluster comprises 16 senior secondary schools, 15 junior secondary schools, and five primary schools, serving approximately 20,000 pupils.

Before the upgrade, many of the buildings had fallen into various stages of disrepair. The renovation added 13 new classrooms and a vocational training centre. Two new buildings were also constructed for pupils living with disabilities, fitted with vertical lift facilities to ease movement between floors. The Lagos State Infrastructure Asset Management Agency will take charge of ongoing maintenance.

The Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle is the second Ajegunle project on the list — a sports facility consisting of 19 mini-football pitches built side by side, designed to create recreational and talent development opportunities for young residents.

Governance and Commerce
Three additional projects address administrative efficiency and food distribution.
The Lagos Multi-Agency Building in Alausa will consolidate several government agencies under one roof, reducing bureaucratic fragmentation and cutting the distance between decision-making points across departments.

The Lagos State Geographic Information Service (LAGIS) Building is a five-floor purpose-built facility that centralises all services related to geospatial mapping, urban planning, and land administration.
Special Adviser on e-GIS to the Governor Olajide Babatunde said it was designed to offer a one-stop access point for residents and developers navigating land-related processes.

The final project, the Lagos Fresh Food Hub in Abijo, Ajah, targets food access in the Eti Osa corridor.
Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems Abisola Olusanya said the hub would build a sustainable food distribution network, decentralising fresh produce supply beyond traditional markets and ramping up availability for communities in the area.
Meanwhile, ahead of the visit, Lagos State has put security and movement plans in place. Over 500 personnel of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority will be deployed across the metropolis to manage traffic flow and coordinate the president’s movement.
