Shiites To Unveil Their Preferred Presidential Candidate Ahead Of Election

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Shi’ites in Nigeria, operating under the umbrella of Ahlil Bayt Nigeria, have revealed plans to declare their support for a particular presidential candidate in the next two days, ahead of Saturday’s presidential election.

This announcement was made by the National Coordinator of the organization, Hon Garba Ya’u Gwarmai, during the annual conference of Ahlil Bayt in Kano State.

Speaking on behalf of the organization, Gwarmai stated that they will vote for their preferred presidential candidate and give bulk votes to that candidate. However, the candidate must be committed to securing the lives, property, and beliefs of Nigerians.

He also dismissed claims that Shi’ites in Nigeria do not vote, stating that they are Nigerians and enjoy the same constitutional rights as everyone else.

Gwarmai explained that the decision to participate in the democratic process was made in line with the basic tenets and principles of the path of Ahlil Bayt, which emphasizes commitment to justice and service to humanity.

He noted that after a careful review and critical evaluation of all candidates at all levels, the leadership of the platform will endorse and announce the candidate that all members should vote for.

He further stated that the announcement will be made as soon as possible before the elections, and all members have unanimously agreed to vote for the endorsed candidate irrespective of their political affiliations or party collaborations.

The announcement by the Ahlil Bayt Nigeria has generated a lot of interest, with many political analysts predicting that the group’s support could significantly influence the outcome of the presidential election. As a religious and social organization with a large following, their support is likely to tilt the scale in favor of the candidate they endorse.
