The prolonged closure followed a 2025 National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) raid based on a petition alleging a drug party at the venue.
Nwogu revealed that the raid and subsequent legal battle cost running into billions of naira in lost revenue, facility damages, and heavy legal fees for a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and six other lawyers, before a judge eventually discharged and acquitted him of all charges.
To bring back customer confidence and reopen the venue, the nightlife entrepreneur executed a complete interior renovation costing over ₦100 million.
Nwogu explained that he remained financially afloat during the nine-month shutdown through the inherent earning power of the Pretty Mike brand, which commands substantial appearance fees, alongside his active investments in a construction firm and real estate.
He addressed his famous and highly criticized public stunts, such as bringing a coordinated group of 20 pregnant women to an event or walking with women on leashes, stating that the shock elements are calculated business strategies to keep his brand trending in the public space.
Nwogu noted that he funds these appearances entirely independently and never informs event planners or hosts beforehand to preserve the surprise element.

Turning to his highly scrutinized personal life, the socialite disclosed that while he currently has numerous girlfriends, his primary focus is now shifting toward finding a wife.
Nwogu admitted that serving as a best man 42 times over the last decade has exposed him to the high rate of broken homes, which initially made him cautious about matrimony.
However, he emphasized that he views marriage as a major life achievement and looks forward to having children.
When discussing his preferences for a partner, the nightclub owner stated he does not look for specific physical attributes, choosing instead to focus entirely on a woman’s behavior, attitude, personality, and foundational upbringing.
