Mengisto and al-Sayed, both civilians, have been held in Gaza for nearly a decade after entering the territory.
This release marks the final stage of the current phase of the Gaza truce deal, under which Israeli hostages have been freed in small groups since the agreement’s first phase began last month.
As part of the deal—brokered with U.S. mediation—hundreds of Palestinian prisoners have also been released.
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas escalated after the October 7, 2023, attack, in which Hamas killed 1,200 people in southern Israel and took 250 hostages.

The latest list of names comes amid renewed tensions following Israeli claims that the body of hostage Shiri Bibas had been misidentified.
Hamas responded that her remains may have been mixed with others due to an Israeli airstrike.
