Social Media Bill Hearing: Filmmaker Denied Entry Over Indecent Dressing
The controversial anti-social media bill introduced at the Senate last November received bashing from various groups and bodies at the weekend as the upper legislative chamber held a public hearing on the bill yesterday.
However, a Nigerian Filmmaker was denied entry into the complex by security men because of her dressing which was termed as “indecent”.

Sharing a photo of herself on Twitter, in the dress she wore, she wrote:
“Dear @nassnigeria what is your dress code policy for entering the National Assembly? Today I was denied access to cover the #socialmediabill public hearing for my organisation @AmplifiedR on the grounds that I am indecently dressed”
The bill, entitled “Protection from Internet Falsehood and Manipulation Bill,” was sponsored by Senator Musa Mohammed (Niger East) passed through second reading in January before being referred to the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Legal Matters headed by Senator Opeyemi Bamidele.
