- Tinubu Needs National Support To End Terrorism – APC Chieftain Oyintiloye
- Oyintiloye appealed to the newly appointed service chiefs to justify the confidence reposed in them
- Oyintiloye emphasized that the security challenges did not begin with the Tinubu administration
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has called on religious, community, and political leaders across the country to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
Eko Hot Blog reports that while speaking with journalists on Sunday in Osogbo, Oyintiloye, a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, stressed that unity and collective responsibility were essential to overcoming the lingering security challenges facing the nation.

He described the recent threat by United States President Donald Trump to deploy military forces to Nigeria over alleged killings of Christians as a matter of national concern that requires Nigerians to close ranks and defend the country’s sovereignty.
“The President and our security agencies are doing their best to end violent crimes in the country. Nigerians, regardless of political or religious affiliation, must stand united to safeguard our sovereignty,” he said.
Oyintiloye emphasized that the security challenges did not begin with the Tinubu administration but evolved over the years from terrorism to banditry, insisting that no religion has been the specific target of such acts.

“All religions in Nigeria Muslims, Christians, and others have felt the negative impact of terrorism. No faith community can claim exclusivity of victimhood,” he added.
While appreciating U.S. concerns over Nigeria’s security situation, the APC stalwart said that intelligence sharing and logistical support from America would be more beneficial than direct military intervention.
“Getting foreign support in terms of equipment will be good, but not the deployment of soldiers. It may complicate the situation and lead to greater problems,” Oyintiloye warned.
He further urged members of the opposition to refrain from divisive statements that could worsen national tension, noting that any instability would affect all Nigerians irrespective of party affiliation.
Oyintiloye also appealed to the newly appointed service chiefs to justify the confidence reposed in them by the President and to intensify efforts in defeating terrorists across the country.
“This is not the time to play opposition politics. What President Tinubu needs at this time is the support of all Nigerians,” he said.
