Themed “Driving Alternative Payment Channels as Tools for Financial Inclusion, Growth and Accelerated Economic Development,” the fair aimed to deepen public understanding of the apex bank’s policies and their role in stabilising the economy.
The CBN governor stressed that citizens must respect the Naira as a national symbol, urging Nigerians to desist from spraying or counterfeiting it.

“Do not spray, hawk, mutilate, or counterfeit the Naira. It is our critical national symbol,” he said.
Cardoso also highlighted recent reforms, including exchange rate unification, clearance of over $7 billion FX backlog, ongoing bank recapitalisation, and the introduction of Non-Resident BVN, all targeted at positioning Nigeria toward a $1 trillion economy.
Earlier, the CBN Controller of Kaduna Branch, Ahmad Dalhatu, noted that the Fair serves as a platform for financial literacy, transparency, and citizen engagement on economic policies.
