Tears flowed freely as a massive crowd of family members, community leaders, close friends, and top stakeholders from the Nigerian movie industry gathered under a somber atmosphere to say their final goodbyes to the screen idol.
Representing the Abia State Government at the event, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, delivered an emotional address on behalf of Governor Alex Otti.
The Governor described Alexx Ekubo’s untimely demise as a monumental loss that reverberates far beyond the borders of Abia State, touching millions of film enthusiasts globally.
Otti stressed that the deceased was not just a regular entertainer but a brilliant cultural ambassador who consistently utilized his massive professional platform to polish and project the image of Nigeria to the international community.
He added that the entire state shares in the immense grief of the Ekubo-Okwaraeke family during this dark hour.
The funeral service, which held at the Mary Slessor School in Amanagwu Village, featured an impactful sermon by Pastor Eno Eze, the Lead Pastor of Streams of Joy International, Umuahia.
The cleric admonished the grieving congregation to reflect deeply on the brevity of human life, urging everyone to dedicate their time to building enduring legacies that outlive their physical existence.
