Tragedy struck in the Kpansia area of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, as a 16-year-old boy, Ayibanua Timipre, reportedly took his own life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his parents’ residence.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday morning along Jasmine Road, sent shockwaves through the usually quiet neighborhood. Local residents described Timipre as a calm and well-liked young man who was undergoing mobile mechanic training in the community.

Although the exact reasons behind his tragic decision remain unclear, sources revealed that the teenager was set to celebrate his 16th birthday the following day, Sunday, February 16, 2025.

His death has left family members and neighbors in deep mourning.

A team of police officers recovered his lifeless body, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death are ongoing. The spokesman of the Bayelsa State Police Command, Musa Mohammed, confirmed the incident but did not provide further details on the case.
