Since his coronation in 2020, the Alara has transitioned from being a veteran of the fiscal corridors of Lagos (having served as the Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service) to a relentless crusader for socio-economic and intellectual elevation in the Epe Division.

When Oba Ogunsanwo ascended the throne of his forefathers five years ago, he brought with him a briefcase of strategies aimed at “de-risking” the rural economy.
His reign has been characterized by a plethora of life-changing initiatives that bridge the gap between ancient heritage and modern governance.

One of his most significant footprints is the establishment of the Alara Education Support Fund, which has empowered hundreds of students within the Epe axis, ensuring that financial barriers do not stifle intellectual potential.
This commitment to the ivory tower made his appointment by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu an easy decision; the Governor recognized that a man who has successfully managed the tax system of a mega-city and the hearts of a kingdom is uniquely qualified to steward the legacy of LASU.
In the realm of infrastructure, the Alara has been a vocal advocate for the expansion of the “Epe-Ikorodu” corridor, working in tandem with both state and federal representatives like Rep. Wale Raji to ensure that the Poka and Agbowa communities are not left behind in the Lagos State development agenda.
His palace has become a hub for diplomatic engagement, hosting international investors and cultural envoys, which has directly resulted in the revitalization of the Ebi Festival and other cultural landmarks.
By turning these festivals into viable tourism products, he has created a sustainable revenue stream for local artisans and entrepreneurs, proving that culture can indeed be a driver for commercial growth.
As he assumes his seat as the 6th Chancellor of LASU, the expectations are sky-high, yet his track record suggests he is more than capable.

The university is entering an era where academia must meet industry, and there is perhaps no better figure to lead this charge than a monarch who understands the complexities of public service, the precision of financial management, and the sanctity of leadership.
For the people of Ilara and the academic community of LASU, this appointment is a testament to the fact that when preparation meets opportunity, the result is a legacy that goes far beyond time and title.
