President Tinubu had arrived in Dar es Salaam on Sunday evening at 10:20 p.m. (8:20 p.m. Nigerian time), where he was received by Ali Ameir, Tanzania’s Minister of State in the Office of the President. His participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to addressing the continent’s energy deficits and enhancing regional cooperation.
On the first day of the summit, participating nations, including Nigeria, presented their respective national energy strategies. These presentations highlighted approaches to tackling energy access gaps and advancing renewable energy solutions.
Welcoming Tinubu to the summit, AfDB President Akinwumi Adesina expressed his appreciation in a social media post: “I was delighted to welcome H.E. President Tinubu @officialABAT to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania for the Africa Energy Summit, organised by the @AfDB_Group and the @WorldBank, with the Government of Tanzania. Thank you very much, Mr. President, for honouring us.”
