President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate reconstruction of three major federal roads in Niger State and the extension of the Bodo–Bonny Road to link up with the East–West Road in Rivers State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the approval was granted during a meeting with the Minister of Works, David Umahi, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen road infrastructure across the country.

Three Key Roads in Niger State
The three road projects slated for reconstruction in Niger State will be built using reinforced concrete pavement to improve durability and ensure long-term value for money.
The roads include:
Mokwa–Bida Road (120km)
Mokwa–Makera Road (63km)
Bida–Lambata Road (123.5km)
Altogether, the projects cover more than 300 kilometres and are considered critical routes linking communities and boosting economic activities within the state and beyond.
Bodo–Bonny Extension
In the South-South, the president also approved the extension of the Bodo–Bonny Road to connect with the East–West Road in Rivers State.

The extension will be constructed as a dual carriageway and built with concrete pavement. It will also feature solar-powered street lighting to enhance visibility and security.
The move is expected to improve connectivity in the oil-rich region, ease transportation challenges, and support economic growth.
The latest approvals underscore the Federal Government’s push to modernise road infrastructure and improve connectivity across key corridors nationwide.
