According to the Force, compliance with the directive was exemplary, with no unauthorised deployments or arrests recorded.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Force Public Relations Officer, emphasised that the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, remains committed to redeploying personnel to core policing responsibilities such as crime prevention, public safety, and protection of lives and property.

The statement further assured that the initiative would continue across the country “without fear or favour,” urging Nigerians to support efforts to build a more professional and people-centered police service.
The directive, issued by President Tinubu during a November 23 security meeting in Abuja, instructs that VIPs requiring protection now receive security from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, thereby allowing police officers to focus on frontline duties in underserved communities.
