Members of the Nigeria Super Eagles were all smiles on Monday as the federal government fulfilled its housing and land pledge for their silver-winning performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that players received certificates for the promised plots of land and flats, handed over at the team’s camp in Fez, Morocco.

The Super Eagles had finished second at AFCON 2023, losing 2-1 to hosts Côte d’Ivoire in the final. Earlier, President Bola Tinubu had conferred the Member of the Order of Niger (MON) on each squad member and promised plots of land in the Federal Capital Territory alongside flats for their achievement.

The team begins its 2025 AFCON campaign on Tuesday against Tanzania, followed by matches against Tunisia on December 27 and Uganda three days later.
In a related gesture, players and officials were gifted Bay Ice x NFF Custom Edition wristwatches as part of the federation’s support for their quest to win the next AFCON.
