Supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the banner of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group (BAT-IG) have applauded the reported defection of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the move as a significant gain for the ruling party.
In a statement released on Monday, Eko Hot Blog gathered that the group said the governor’s decision underscores growing belief in the direction, leadership and progressive philosophy of the APC under President Tinubu.

BAT-IG noted that the steady expansion of the party’s membership reflects increasing public confidence in its leadership and vision.
Drawing from a popular saying, the group remarked that the strength and honour of leadership are amplified by the number of people who align with it, adding that the APC’s rising followership signals broad acceptance among Nigerians.
Commenting on the political implications of Governor Yusuf’s defection, the group said the alignment of electoral forces would further strengthen the APC ahead of future contests.
According to BAT-IG, the development places the party in a stronger position to secure more victories and maintain political stability as the 2027 general elections approach.
The group also praised the leadership of the APC for fostering reconciliation and inclusiveness within its ranks, stressing that such efforts are crucial to sustaining unity and ensuring a seamless build-up to the next election cycle.
BAT-IG further observed that the move by the Kano State governor points to increasing nationwide support for the APC’s progressive ideology and governance style.
