On Sunday, Anyim, acting as Returning Officer and Chairman of the APC Presidential Primary Elections Committee, announced the final results of the nationwide direct primary at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.

According to him, the total number of registered voters for the exercise stood at 12,643,306, while accredited voters were put at 11,069,756. He added that total votes cast during the exercise were 11,015,665.
Tinubu reportedly secured 10,999,162 votes to emerge victorious in the primary election.
Meanwhile, Governor Abiodun, who emerged as the APC candidate for the Ogun East Senatorial District election, expressed gratitude to Tinubu, party leaders and members of the APC for the confidence reposed in him during the exercise.
The governor praised the President’s democratic approach, especially the adoption of direct primaries, which he said gave party members the opportunity to freely exercise their voting rights and strengthened internal democracy within the APC.
Abiodun described the successful conduct of the primary election as evidence of the party’s unity, maturity and growing democratic culture in Ogun State.
