President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a 50 per cent reduction in fares for all passenger train services operated by the Nigerian Railway Corporation ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Under the arrangement, passengers travelling on all NRC routes across the country will pay half of the current approved ticket fares during the six-day period.

The move is aimed at easing transportation costs for Nigerians travelling for the Sallah celebration amid rising living expenses and increased holiday travel demand.
The Federal Government said the initiative forms part of efforts to support citizens during the festive season and make interstate travel more affordable for families.
