During the visit, Tinubu held meetings with King Charles III and Keir Starmer to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations. A major highlight was witnessing the signing of a £746 million financing deal to modernise key ports in Lagos State, aimed at boosting trade and improving infrastructure.
The visit also resulted in the signing of three significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering migration partnerships, organised immigration crime, border security, and expanded business visas for UK firms operating in Nigeria.

For the first time, the Nigerian government will recognise UK letters, an identification document for individuals without valid passportsremoving the need for emergency travel documents for deportations.
The agreement also facilitates the removal of foreign nationals who overstay visas, are involved in criminal activity, or are failed asylum seekers.
The MoU was signed by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, UK Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood and UK Trade Envoy Florence Eshalomi.
