EKO HOT BLOG reports that the review is expected to address what some stakeholders described as anomalies in the initial list, including the inclusion of individuals facing corruption allegations and the omission of party members considered valuable to the campaign.
Tinubu is expected to chair the campaign council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, will serve as Vice Chairmen I and II respectively.
Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, is expected to serve as Director General, while Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, will serve as Secretary.
However, the composition of the wider membership has attracted criticism from some political stakeholders who questioned the suitability of some individuals listed on the council.
Sources told Daily Trust that concerns surrounding the list included the presence of people facing corruption allegations, the exclusion of individuals with relevant political experience and some omissions attributed to human error.
The concerns have prompted the Presidency to review the list before the council is inaugurated.
The date for the inauguration has not yet been announced as the process of fine tuning the membership is still ongoing.
A senior Presidency source, according to the publication, said the leadership structure of the council would remain unchanged despite the review.
The source said the adjustments would focus mainly on the membership, with some names expected to be removed and others added.
“Everything is being done in the Villa, but we are aware that the list is being reviewed due to the concerns raised about the inclusion of names of some people who are not supposed to be there and the exclusion of those that would add value to the campaign.
“But that should be expected in politics as lots of interests are involved,” the source stated.
The review is therefore not expected to affect the appointments of Yari as Director General or Uzodimma as Secretary.
The source said the changes were intended to ensure that the final composition of the council reflected the interests and needs of the 2027 campaign.
The initial list reportedly contained several issues, including the inclusion of individuals facing alleged corruption cases, the exclusion of experienced political figures and names that were left out due to oversight.
A former member of the APC campaign council also said such adjustments were not unusual.
According to the source, the membership list for the 2023 presidential campaign was also reviewed after concerns were raised before the final council was inaugurated.

The development comes as the APC begins preparations for the 2027 presidential election, with the party expected to build a campaign structure capable of coordinating its activities across the country.
For now, the Presidency is focused on resolving the concerns surrounding the membership list before announcing the inauguration date.
