EKO HOT BLOG reports that the committee was inaugurated on Wednesday in Lagos and is expected to work towards strengthening party cohesion, managing conflicts and coordinating mobilisation strategies within the APC.
Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, was appointed chairman of the committee, while former APC National Legal Adviser, Muiz Banire, will serve as member and secretary.
Other members include Senator Adamu Aliero; Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq; Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma; and Governors Hyacinth Alia of Benue, Umar Namadi of Jigawa, Bassey Otu of Cross River, Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti and Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta.
Also on the committee are Governors Uba Sani of Kaduna and Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, and former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello.
Speaking at the inauguration, Governor Buni thanked the party leadership for the confidence reposed in the committee, assuring that members would approach the assignment with a strong sense of responsibility.
He said the committee would engage stakeholders and develop strategies aimed at resolving disputes and promoting inclusion within the party.
According to him, the assignment would focus on proactive conflict management and addressing potential threats to party unity, while ensuring that aggrieved members feel a sense of belonging.
Buni also urged committee members to place the collective interest of the party above personal considerations.
The inauguration followed President Tinubu’s remarks at the 15th National Executive Committee meeting of the APC held on December 19 at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja, where he stressed the importance of unity and tolerance within the party.

At the NEC meeting, the President reminded party leaders that the APC was founded on progressive ideals, broad participation and respect for diverse opinions, warning that internal divisions could undermine the party’s strength ahead of future elections.
