President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Muttaqha Darma as the new Minister of Housing and Urban Development following his confirmation by the Senate.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Darma, who hails from Katsina State, replaces former minister Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, who recently stepped down from the position.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
During the swearing in ceremony, President Tinubu congratulated the new minister and described his appointment as coming at a critical time in the country’s development.
“You have a very rich and interesting background. As a leader, we need competent hands like yours,” the President said.

“There is no doubt that you have rendered valuable services in all the assignments you have embarked upon. You are a fitting peg in the right position,” he added.
Tinubu urged Darma to remain committed to service and be prepared to take on responsibilities as required.
The new minister is a scholar and development expert with a Doctor of Business Administration degree from the University of Liverpool, as well as a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Atlantic International University.
