“Two years ago, Nigerians entrusted him with the leadership of our nation at one of the most difficult moments in our modern history. The economy was in distress, public confidence shaken, and our national direction uncertain. Yet, true to his courage and visionary spirit, President Tinubu chose the harder but more honourable path the path of reform, restructuring, and renewal,” Abiru said.
The lawmaker highlighted key milestones of the administration, including:
The launch of NELFUND educational loans for over 510,000 students;
CrediCorp loans worth ₦30 billion to 150,000 Nigerians;
The introduction of a ₦70,000 minimum wage; and
Project Bridge, a 90,000km fibre optic network driving digital transformation.
Abiru also commended the synergy between the National Assembly and the Executive, noting that several landmark legislations including the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act (NIIRA) 2025, Tax Reform Acts, Student Loan Act, Electricity Act Amendment, Data Protection Act, and Startup Act implementation framework have provided a legal backbone for Tinubu’s reform agenda.
“These legislative interventions are the backbone of the President’s reforms, providing legal and institutional stability,” he noted.
As Chairman of the Southern Senators’ Forum, Abiru reaffirmed Lagos State’s pivotal role in Nigeria’s progressive governance tradition, recalling how Tinubu’s tenure as governor laid the foundation for fiscal innovation and inclusive growth now replicated nationwide.

“On behalf of the good people of Lagos East Senatorial District and in concert with the collective will of our great party, I proudly and unequivocally endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027,” Abiru declared.
Dignitaries at the event included Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwumi Ambode, among other APC stakeholders.
