Trump Praises Prince William As a ‘Good-Looking Guy’ After Paris Meeting

“He looked really very handsome last night,” Trump said. “Some people look better in person. He looked great. He looked really nice, and I told him that.”
The meeting took place at the re-opening ceremony for Notre-Dame Cathedral, which has undergone extensive restoration since the devastating fire five years ago.
During their conversation, Trump said they discussed health issues within the Royal Family. “I asked him about his wife, and he said she’s doing well. I asked him about his father, and his father is fighting very hard. He loves his father and his wife, so it was sad,” Trump said.
Trump’s reference to the King “fighting hard” was clarified by royal sources as relating to his efforts to maintain an active public role rather than a specific health update. The King, who has been undergoing cancer treatment, is reportedly planning overseas engagements next year.
“We had a great talk for half an hour, maybe a little longer,” Trump added, describing the meeting as positive and productive.
Kensington Palace declined to comment on the details of the conversation.
The meeting, arranged on short notice, coincided with an international event hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron to celebrate the cathedral’s reopening. Trump also praised Macron, saying, “He’s a good man, and he did a good job. I told him, ‘You have no idea how good a job you did’ on that chapel. That’s very hard to do. Painstaking.”

Trump, known for his admiration of the British Royal Family, recounted his past interactions with the late Queen Elizabeth II. He shared a fond memory of asking her who her favourite US president or UK prime minister had been. According to Trump, she diplomatically replied, “I liked them all,” though Trump noted with characteristic flair that “many people have said I was her favourite president.”
Prince William’s meeting with Trump may signify efforts to reinforce the “special relationship” between the UK and the incoming Republican administration, as leaders from both sides continue to express mutual admiration and cooperation.
