Eko hot blog reports that visit comes at a tense time in global affairs. Trump recently threatened to annex Canada, a Commonwealth country where King Charles serves as ceremonial head of state.
Due to Parliament being out of session from September 16 to October 13 for party conferences, Trump is unlikely to address British lawmakers, unlike French President Emmanuel Macron who spoke there last week.
The visit will be the second royal welcome for Trump in recent years. In 2019, he and the First Lady were received by the late Queen Elizabeth II, though the visit was met with mass protests.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan was openly critical of Trump at the time, releasing a strong video message ahead of his arrival.

Trump has also intensified global tariff wars in recent months. Although he praised a “maxed out” trade deal with Britain in May, it retained a 10% base tariff, raising questions over its long-term benefits.
In May, King Charles addressed Canada’s Parliament, calling the period a “critical moment” for democracy and urging the country to defend values like pluralism and self-determination.
