The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, on Friday, October 10th, officially flagged off the distribution of interactive smart boards to basic education schools across Nigeria, at Queen’s College, Yaba, Lagos State.

Dr. Alausa launched the initiative with guests and education stakeholders to boost teaching and learning through digital technology. The Minister called it a transformation of Nigeria’s education system to meet digital economy demands, aiming to build a globally competitive knowledge-based society.
He stressed the importance of innovation and competitiveness in education by integrating artificial intelligence and digital literacy into school curriculums. “Education must evolve with innovation and competitiveness,” Dr. Alausa said.
The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) distributed over 800 interactive smart boards nationwide. These boards feature multi-touch screens and high-definition displays designed to create interactive and inclusive classrooms across the country.
