The British government has turned down Nigeria’s plea to have former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu transferred back to Nigeria to complete his prison term.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the request was tabled during a recent meeting between Nigeria’s Foreign Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, and senior officials at the UK Ministry of Justice, where the delegation sought Ekweremadu’s deportation to enable him to continue his sentence in Nigeria.
