The Minister said he would collaborate with Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, to ensure an overwhelming electoral victory for Tinubu in the next general election, targeting as much as 95 per cent of votes in the state.
According to him, the scale of infrastructure projects being executed under the Tinubu administration in Ebonyi and across the South-East is unprecedented, insisting that no previous government had shown similar commitment to the region’s development.

Umahi challenged critics to identify any administration that had delivered comparable projects in the area, stressing that the present government had changed the narrative of alleged marginalisation in the region.
He also commended the President’s decision to appoint an Igbo man to oversee the Ministry of Works, describing it as a significant show of trust and inclusion that has enabled faster delivery of major projects.
The Minister further noted that his support for Tinubu’s administration would be matched with an aggressive political mobilisation effort in Ebonyi State ahead of 2027.

Speaking on the 2023 polls, Umahi said the South-East’s performance was an “accident of history,” adding that political dynamics would shift in favour of the President in the next election cycle.
He said his team would embark on widespread sensitisation campaigns to encourage voters, especially young people and elites, to support continuity, arguing that such alignment would accelerate regional development.
Umahi maintained that the region’s political future would be better secured through closer cooperation with the current administration, expressing confidence in a stronger showing for the President in 2027.
