Elon Musk took center stage at President Donald Trump’s first cabinet meeting on Wednesday, as the president dismissed reports of discord over the billionaire’s sweeping government reforms and warned that any cabinet member unhappy with Musk’s role would be removed.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Trump, praised Musk’s controversial Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative, which requires federal employees to justify their jobs or face termination.

The president insisted his administration was “thrilled” with Musk’s leadership, despite reports of tension within the White House.
Wearing a black ‘Make America Great Again’ baseball cap, Musk stood before the cabinet and defended his radical reform measures, stating, “If we don’t do this, America will go bankrupt.”
The SpaceX and Tesla CEO acknowledged the backlash, revealing he had received numerous death threats over the initiative. At one point, he described his role as “humble technical support” for Trump’s administration before theatrically revealing a black t-shirt emblazoned with “Tech Support” in bold white letters.
Amid speculation about cabinet resistance, Trump turned to his team and asked, “Is anybody unhappy with Elon? If they are, we’ll throw them out of here.”
The comment was met with laughter and applause from cabinet members, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

The DOGE emails, which instructed all federal employees to justify their jobs or risk being fired, have caused widespread confusion in Washington.
While some government departments advised staff to ignore the directive, Trump warned that those who failed to respond were “on the bubble.”
Musk, who is an advisor rather than a cabinet member, has emerged as Trump’s most powerful and influential ally. Having donated $250 million to Trump’s 2024 campaign, the billionaire is frequently seen alongside the president, overshadowing Vice President JD Vance and even First Lady Melania Trump.
The meeting also highlighted Trump’s broader policy agenda. He announced progress in negotiations to end Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, revealing that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would visit the White House to sign an agreement granting Washington access to Kyiv’s rare minerals.
Additionally, Trump disclosed plans to impose 25 percent tariffs on European imports, stating, “The European Union was created to screw the United States.”
