Job Title: Forklift Operator

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• We are looking for technically skilled candidates with excellent attention to detail for the position of forklift operator.
• The ideal candidate will beresponsible for optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency, scheduling forklift for maintenance and repairs, and managing inventory, among other duties.
• Forklift operatorwill need to transport valuable items, requiring diligence and good hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Move and load hazardous wastes under the direction of a supervisor.
• Clean work area and equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, wood and plastic.
• Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure a safe and positive work atmosphere.
• Maintain forklift equipment by troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance
• Identify and report faulty pieces of equipment, damages, and safety concerns to the Supervisor immediately.
• Load and unload products from trailers using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment.
• Store the products in proper places in the warehouse.
• Transport products to and from warehouse and distribution centers.
• Loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving warehouse items.
• Transporting materials to different locations within the facility.
• Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency.
• Securing loads to the machine before transportation.
• Inspecting for damages to forklift.
• Operating and managing forkliftequipment.
• Adhering to safety management standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma / SSCE.
• Minimum of 3 years work experience.
• Valid fork-lifting certificate.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Proficiency in operating technical machinery.
• Good physical condition.
• Mathematical aptitude.
• Good organizational skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication.
