President Tinubu disclosed that he met with Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, to receive a detailed briefing on the attack. Condemning the incident in strong terms, he described the assailants as heartless for targeting innocent civilians.
According to the President, he had already directed the immediate deployment of an army battalion to Kaiama LGA, with the new military formation set to lead Operation Savannah Shield. The operation, he said, is aimed at stopping the activities of the attackers and protecting vulnerable communities in the area.

Tinubu noted that the attack was particularly troubling because residents were targeted after refusing an attempt at forced indoctrination. He praised the community for rejecting extremism, stressing that Nigeria would never allow violence to be imposed under the guise of religion.
The President further ordered close collaboration between federal and state agencies to ensure immediate relief for the affected community and to guarantee that the perpetrators are pursued and prosecuted. He emphasized that they would not escape justice.
President Tinubu extended his condolences to the families of the victims and expressed sympathy with the people and government of Kwara State, assuring them of the Federal Government’s full support. He reiterated his commitment to defending Nigeria’s values, protecting its citizens, and defeating all forms of terror.
