Police sources said Halimat was flagged down for questioning but reportedly failed to give a credible explanation for being in possession of the firearm.

Although she denied involvement in armed robbery, investigators noted that she could not justify why she was travelling with the locally made weapon. Police authorities suspect she may be connected to other individuals who are currently at large.
Halimat has been arraigned on charges of conspiracy and unlawful possession of a firearm, offences under Lagos State law that attract significant penalties upon conviction.
The case is before the Ogba Magistrate Court and has been forwarded to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice as investigations continue.
