A tragic incident unfolded at a hotel located on the 3rd Avenue in Gwarimpa, Abuja, as a woman identified as Aldi Johnson was found strangled to death in her hotel room.

Eko Hot Blog gathered that the victim also known as Tessy, was reportedly from Benue State and had checked into the hotel with an unknown male companion on Monday night, according to a witness named Ifeanyi.

The hotel cleaner discovered the lifeless body of Johnson on Tuesday morning, when she attempted to clean the room but found the door locked from the outside. After several knocks went unanswered, staff members forced the door open to find Johnson’s hands tied behind her back and her mouth gagged with a small cloth.

Upon discovering the victim, a hotel staff member recorded the scene before alerting the police, who arrived shortly after and transported Johnson’s body to the morgue.

FCT police command spokeswoman SP Adeh Josephine confirmed the incident, stating that preliminary investigations revealed Johnson’s companion had left the hotel without her.

She said the victim was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

“And while the investigation is ongoing, the Commissioner of Police CP Ajao Saka Adewale, urged members of the public to remain calm and allow the Police to carry out a comprehensive inquiry,” she said.

She urged young women to exercise caution in their interactions with strangers and unfamiliar individuals. To ensure their personal safety, Josephine advises women to inform trusted friends or family members of their whereabouts when meeting new people or venturing into potentially risky situations.
