In response to the mysterious disappearance of at least 26 children in Agbarho Community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, women of the community took to the streets in protest.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the women dressed in black, the demonstrators marched through major streets chanting melancholic songs and carrying placards bearing messages such as “Stop Stealing Our Children” and “Where Are Our Kids?”

One protester, Mrs. Efe Okoro, expressed concern over the alarming number of vanished children, stating that the list has grown to 26 children in the past eight months. She noted that the victims are primarily between the ages of 3 and 10.
Frustrated by the lack of action from security agencies and local authorities, the protesters called upon Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to intervene and address the situation.
She said: “There have been no meaningful updates or recoveries. Our frustration has been fueled. We are living in fear everyday because we don’t know whose child is next.”
Mrs. Itohan Orugbo, a participant in the demonstration, expressed frustration and fear, saying, “Children go to school and never return. Some disappear while playing just in front of their homes.”
Questioning the lack of urgency in addressing the issue, Orugbo said, “If our children were the children of senators or top politicians, would they still be missing?”
Meanwhile, the Ovie of Agbarho Kingdom, HRM Ogurimer – ime Okorefe I, condemned the wave of missing children and characterized it as “a declaration of war against the people.”
