In a landmark move to further youth involvement in governance, a delegation of All Progressives Congress (APC) youth leaders across the 57 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) of Lagos State paid a courtesy visit to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos State House
Ekohotblog reports that the engagement, spearheaded by State APC Youth Leader Dr. Seriki Muritala and supported by Commissioner for Youth and Social Development Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, focused on reinforcing youth empowerment, participation in policy formulation and fostering leadership development.

Among the delegation was Comrade Giwa Muritala Omotola-Moore, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical and Vocational Education Board, who described the meeting as “a timely and strategic interaction between youth leaders and the number one citizen of Lagos State.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a future-ready Lagos by investing in young people.
“The youth are not just leaders of tomorrow—they are leaders of today. This administration is open to ideas and partnership that will enable Lagos youths to thrive, innovate and lead responsibly,” he stated.
He highlighted several initiatives already implemented under his administration to promote youth development, including increased funding for education, technical and vocational training and youth-targeted empowerment programs.
The youth leaders, in a joint statement, expressed deep appreciation to the Governor for his consistent support of youth-focused policies, especially in the areas of education, employment and entrepreneurship.
“We are grateful for the enabling environment the Governor has provided, but we are also calling for greater representation of youths in leadership positions and decision-making spaces,” said Dr. Seriki Muritala.
Commissioner Mobolaji Ogunlende emphasized the importance of collaboration between the youth and the government to ensure a responsive and inclusive administration.
