He highlighted youth empowerment as a critical priority under the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus agenda, citing ongoing investments in skills acquisition, digital literacy, vocational training, and entrepreneurship.
The governor listed initiatives such as the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), Graduate Internship Placement Programme (GIPP), Ready-Set-Work, and private sector partnerships as part of efforts to bridge the gap between education and employment.

Ajigbotafe disclosed that more than 200,000 jobs have been created in the last four years through ministry interventions, including the Graduate Internship Placement Programme, vocational centres, and the new Leather Hub in Mushin.
He added that billions of naira have been disbursed via the LSETF to small businesses and start-ups.
Former Wemabod Estates MD, Mr Oluyemi Ejidiran, in his keynote, described the fair as a movement to restore dignity for young people. He highlighted the skills gap in Nigeria and urged stronger collaboration between government, employers, and educational institutions.
Ejidiran advised youths to embrace lifelong learning and remain prepared for opportunities. “You may be jobless today, but you are not useless. Opportunity favours the prepared,” he said.
