EKO HOT BLOG reports that the news was announced on 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) by Alex Onyia, education advocate and founder of Educare, who described the accomplishment as a “proud and historic moment” for Nigeria. Onyia noted that Adoga’s performance ranks him among the top percentile of test-takers worldwide, marking him as the first Nigerian student ever to achieve a perfect SAT score.
“I have very good news for Nigeria. This boy, Agbo Adoga from Graceland International School, Port Harcourt, just scored a perfect SAT score of 1600. He is the first ever in Nigeria to achieve this,” Onyia wrote.
The SAT, a standardized test used for college admissions in the United States, is known for its difficulty and competitiveness. Scoring 1600, the highest possible mark, reflects exceptional academic excellence and mastery in both verbal and quantitative reasoning.
Beyond the SAT, Adoga has distinguished himself as a prodigious talent in mathematics, coding, and STEM-related disciplines. Reports reveal that he has so far won 84 national and international awards, placing him among Nigeria’s most decorated young scholars.

Among his achievements are gold medals at the International STEM Olympiad held in the Netherlands (2024) and Spain (2025), a perfect score at the Singapore & Asian Schools Math Olympiad (2024), victory in the Cowbellpedia Mathematics Competition (Junior Category) in 2023, and championship title at the Maths4Life National Tournament in 2025.
Educational experts have hailed Adoga’s success as proof of Nigeria’s untapped academic potential and a strong reminder of the importance of investing in quality education.
