A dramatic scene unfolded at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Sunday, when two adult sisters engaged in a heated physical fight after missing their scheduled United Airlines flight, Eko Hot Blog reports.
According to eyewitnesses, the sisters arrived at the terminal after the boarding gate had closed, sparking an argument that quickly escalated into a physical altercation.

The incident, which caused panic among passengers and airport staff, saw the duo throwing punches and hurling insults, with their luggage and personal belongings scattered across the terminal.
Security personnel from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) swiftly intervened, dragging the women to the airport’s interrogation office. However, the fight reportedly continued inside the office, leading to one of the sisters collapsing and losing consciousness.
Medical personnel were immediately called to the scene, and an ambulance transported the unconscious sister to the FAAN clinic, where she is currently receiving medical attention.
Her sibling, however, reportedly refused medical assistance, claiming the incident had “spiritual” undertones rather than medical causes.
Commenting on the development via his X (formerly Twitter) account, Michael Achimugu, spokesperson for the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), confirmed the altercation.
He wrote, “Perhaps one of them blamed her sibling for missing the flight. They fought and scattered luggage before being taken to the interrogation office by airport security. Inside, they began fighting again until one fainted. She is presently receiving attention at the FAAN clinic. Hopefully, she recovers. This is not how things should be.”

The NCAA reminded passengers that, according to Part 19 of the Civil Aviation Regulations, travelers are required to arrive at the airport at least two hours before boarding time for domestic flights to avoid such situations.
