Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in a statement on the initiative, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to securing Lagos’ digital infrastructure and fostering investor confidence.
“We will continue to do everything that will ensure the protection of data and assure investors that we will always provide a secure digital environment for their investments,” the Governor said.
According to the Ministry, the campaign will feature a multilingual public outreach across social media, radio, and television, offering practical safety guidance in English, Yoruba, and Pidgin English to ensure inclusivity and cultural relevance.

Residents will be sensitized on key cybersecurity practices, including identifying phishing attempts, using strong passwords, and enabling multi-factor authentication to safeguard personal and financial information.
The State Government also disclosed plans for the establishment of a State Security Operations Centre (SOC) through public-private partnerships.
The SOC will provide real-time threat detection and monitoring across government digital platforms, while creating hundreds of new jobs for cybersecurity professionals and support staff.
The Government urged residents to remain informed, vigilant, and responsible in their online activities, emphasizing that digital safety is a shared responsibility critical to the future of Lagos’ smart city agenda.
“We encourage all Lagosians to stay informed, stay vigilant, and stay safe online—for themselves, their communities, and for generations to come,” the statement added.
