EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a letter addressed to the Chairman of PDP, Southern Opokuma/Ayibabiri Ward 8 in Kolokuma Opokuma Local Government Area, he explained that his decision followed extensive consultations with his political associates, supporters, and family members.
“It is with a heavy heart that I tender my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party effective immediately,” he wrote. “Throughout my time with the party, I have been deeply committed to our shared values and goals, and it has been an honour to work with so many dedicated individuals.”
Dudafa cited unresolved internal disputes within the PDP, particularly at the national level, as one of the major reasons for his departure. According to him, “These disputes have significantly impeded our ability to move forward and have created an environment of conflict that is no longer conducive to advancing our shared values and objectives.”
He noted that while his decision was difficult, his focus remains on serving the best interests of the people. “I remain committed to the welfare and progress of our people,” he stated.
Announcing his move to the APC, Dudafa said the ruling party represents a platform of “renewed hope, unity, and stronger foundation” to address the challenges facing Bayelsa State and Nigeria at large.
He added, “After careful reflection and consideration, I have decided to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), a platform I believe offers renewed hope and unity. I look forward to working alongside new colleagues who share this vision.”
Dudafa also expressed appreciation to the PDP for the relationships and experiences he gained during his years of service in the party, wishing them success in overcoming their internal challenges.

Political observers believe Dudafa’s defection could signal further political realignments in Bayelsa State ahead of future elections.
