“The ministry affirms that there is no record or correspondence in its files indicating any such request for sponsorship from any recognised body,” the statement read.
The ministry urged anyone with verifiable information regarding the matter to formally present it for necessary action, while advising the public to disregard unverified online reports.

“The public is advised to disregard unverified reports and ensure that all education-related matters are confirmed through the ministry’s official communication channels,” it added.
Reaffirming its commitment to promoting academic excellence, the ministry said it would continue to encourage and support outstanding students through due process and transparent procedures.
The clarification follows widespread online reports alleging that the student was unable to attend the global competition due to a lack of sponsorship from the government.
