The Kano State High Court sitting on Miller Road, presided over by Justice Musa Dahiru, has remanded a man in a correctional facility for allegedly killing his wife after she refused to prepare kuli-kuli (groundnut cake) for him.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the defendant, Idris Kurma, was arraigned on a culpable homicide charge contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code. The prosecution, led by Barrister Lamido Abba Soron Dinki, presented the charges, while Kurma pleaded not guilty.

During proceedings, Barrister Lamido requested time to call witnesses, while Barrister Ibrahim Adakawa, representing the defence, asked for full disclosure of the case information.

Justice Dahiru granted both requests and adjourned the matter to 12 December 2025.
Reports indicate that Idris Kurma, who resides in Goda, Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State, allegedly strangled his wife, Aisha Idris, after she refused his request to prepare kuli-kuli, resulting in her death.
