Nigerian rap icon Olamide has dismissed claims suggesting that he and fellow artiste Asake are no longer on good terms, following the latter’s exit from YBNL.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Olamide, speaking in a BBC interview released on Friday, made it clear that their relationship remained intact despite changes on the business front.

He explained that rumours of a rift started after Asake launched his own music imprint, but insisted that business differences have never affected his personal connections with artistes.
Olamide described Asake as “family for life,” emphasising that friendship endures long after contractual obligations end.

Asake, who joined YBNL in 2022, rose to fame after releasing “Omo Ope” featuring Olamide a song that established his national breakthrough and further solidified Olamide’s reputation for grooming stars like Fireboy, Adekunle Gold and Lil Kesh.
Speculations intensified earlier this year when Asake created his Giran Republic label, a move later linked to contractual concerns shared by his legal team.
Yet, Olamide maintained that their bond remains unbroken.
