Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), has declared that the 2027 general election will be a battle between the Nigerian people and the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Obi also reiterated his position that he won the 2023 presidential election but was deprived of victory through what he described as electoral manipulation.

Speaking in a video circulating online, the former Anambra State governor argued that Nigeria’s greatest challenge remains poor leadership, insisting that the outcome of the last presidential election did not reflect the wishes of voters.

“You know that I won that election and it was rigged, but that is not a problem,” Obi said.
According to him, the 2027 election presents another opportunity for Nigerians to determine the country’s future through the ballot.
“I believe the next election will be between Nigerians and the government in power because people have had enough and they want change,” he stated.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared President Bola Tinubu the winner of the 2023 presidential election, while Obi’s petition challenging the result was dismissed by the courts.
Obi maintained that despite the sacrifices made by citizens, the country had failed to achieve the desired progress because of ineffective leadership.
“We have sacrificed so much, yet things are not working. The missing ingredient is leadership,” he said.
He expressed confidence that Nigerians had learned important lessons from previous elections and would ensure that their votes reflected their collective will in 2027.

According to him, the electorate would ultimately determine the outcome of the next presidential poll.
Obi further stated that his aspiration to lead the country was motivated by a desire to build a better Nigeria rather than personal ambition.
“I am not desperate to become president. My passion is to see Nigeria work and to create a society where every child has hope,” he said.
He added that his vision is to build a nation where success is determined by talent and hard work instead of family background, wealth or political influence.
“In the Nigeria I envision, a child from an ordinary home can achieve anything. That is the kind of country we must build because Nigerians deserve better,” Obi added.
