Eko Hot Blog reports that the delegation, led by the Director-General of the group, Comrade Giwa Moshood Olasupo, popularly known as “GMO,” said the visit was aimed at introducing the newly established political support group to the foremost traditional ruler in Epe Division before commencing its grassroots mobilisation campaign.
According to Olasupo, the Tinubu-Hamzat Epe Division Solidarity Front has members spread across the entire Epe Division, extending to Lekki LCDA, with a mandate to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, the party’s expected governorship candidate in Lagos State, and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
“Your Royal Majesty, we considered it important to seek your counsel, prayers and royal blessings before embarking on this assignment. Your contributions to the electoral successes of the APC in Epe Division over the years are well recognised, and your leadership has continued to inspire confidence across the region,” Olasupo said.
He further appealed to the monarch to support the group’s mobilisation efforts by encouraging residents, particularly eligible voters, to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and actively participate in the 2027 elections.
“We believe your support will further strengthen our resolve to ensure that eligible voters in Epe not only obtain their PVCs but also come out in large numbers to vote for all APC candidates during the general elections,” he added.
Responding, Oba Animashaun expressed confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, describing his administration as one committed to transforming Nigeria despite prevailing national challenges.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated remarkable leadership and introduced policies aimed at repositioning the country. Although there are challenges confronting the nation, I believe he remains focused on delivering on his mandate,” the monarch said.
Speaking on the Lagos governorship race, the Oloja described Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as a worthy son of Epe Division whose years of experience in government have adequately prepared him for higher responsibilities.
“Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat has served Lagos State diligently over the years. His wealth of experience in governance makes him well-equipped for the task ahead. By the grace of God, we believe he has what it takes to lead Lagos State,” Oba Animashaun stated.
The traditional ruler also commended the leadership of the Tinubu-Hamzat Epe Division Solidarity Front for initiating an organised grassroots movement in support of the party’s candidates.
He pledged his support for the group’s voter mobilisation campaign, encouraging residents of Epe Division to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and participate actively in the democratic process.
“We will continue to encourage our people to participate fully in the electoral process. Our goal is to ensure that Epe records an impressive voter turnout and contributes significantly to the success of the APC in the 2027 elections,” the monarch concluded.
The visit ended with a presentation of the THEDSF action plan and prospectus to the royal father, followed by a group photograph with members of the Oloja-in-Council and officials of the solidarity group.
