The task force’s surveillance unit and its “See Something, Say Something” feedback mechanism had been inundated with reports about the severe traffic congestion caused by commercial vehicles, which included a mix of danfos, mini-buses, and tricycles. These vehicles were found to be parking indiscriminately, making some roads nearly impassable for other road users.
According to a statement from the task force, the operation was highly successful, resulting in the immediate clearing of the roads in the affected areas. This has brought a sense of relief to motorists and commuters who had previously experienced significant delays.
CSP Akerele confirmed that the drivers of the impounded vehicles would face legal consequences. He stated that they would be charged to court for their various traffic offenses.
He also used the opportunity to issue a strong warning to all road users, urging them to adhere strictly to all traffic laws to ensure that Lagos roads remain safe, clear, and motorable for everyone.
